Old Praga, Warsaw

I have redesigned and rebuilt the space to create a contemporary apartment in a handsome mansion from the 1900s in the city centre in Warsaw, Poland.

To achieve unity of style of the apartment with the old mansion and in the same time to create a space for modern living I have used a fusion of contemporary and traditional styles. To make the apartment more functional and to give an impression of space and permitted more light to enter to the place, I redesigned the layout by opening space and defining room functions by zoning. There were 4 separate rooms – kitchen, two bedrooms, living room and also a corridor, bathroom and WC. I opened the space and created an open plan kitchen/dining room and a living room which became a big living area. The private part remained closed at the back of the apartment and consists of a large bedroom and bathroom enlarged by joining WC.
